Import from Slack

Conversations that piled up in Slack carry on as your team’s record.

On this page

You can bring the channels and conversations you have been using in Slack into Markhub.

Imported messages are not simply stored. They feed Markhub’s search, summaries, Flow and mark map, so what the team discussed and decided reads as one thread, earlier conversations included.

In Markhub, conversation from Slack goes beyond a searchable archive and becomes context AI can read.

Import

① Connected Slack channels and their target hubs. ② Add Channel Sync is the live sync. ③ Import Slack messages is the one-time import of past history.
The Slack integration panel in workspace settings
  1. Export your workspace data from Slack as a ZIP file.
  2. Start the Slack import in Markhub.
  3. Upload the exported ZIP.
  4. Select the channels to bring over, or take the whole workspace.

What changes

Imported messages become record inside a Markhub hub.

  • Past conversations become searchable.
  • AI summarises the imported conversations alongside everything else.
  • Earlier topics and decisions show up in Flow.
  • What the team has covered connects into the mark map.
  • New work continues on top of the imported context.

Worth knowing

The Slack import moves past history once. Messages written in Slack afterwards do not arrive automatically. To run Slack and Markhub side by side, set up live channel sync as well.

If you plan to use both, run the import first and then switch on live sync.
