Talk to your agent. It listens, works, and answers out loud
What's new
- In an empty composer, the mic button now has "Talk to agent". Press it and a small panel floats up. There is no send button. It listens from the moment you open it.
- Your words appear in the panel as you speak. When it is ready to listen, the aurora blooms, so you know when to start.
- When you pause, what you said goes straight to your local agent. If no local agent is connected, your workspace default agent takes it.
- Answers are read out loud. A single line shows what the agent is doing right now, and that line is not read aloud.
- It is the same panel wherever you open it. It floats instead of covering the screen, so you can talk while looking at what you were working on. Drag it anywhere, or collapse it to a small aurora in the bottom left. It keeps listening.
Where the conversation goes
- Each voice conversation becomes one mark in a hub. What you said and what the agent answered stack up in the same thread, like a chat.
- That mark is sorted into topics, decisions and to-dos, like any other conversation. You can hand those to-dos to an agent as usual.
- What you say picks the hub. Say "put this in Marketing" and it goes to Marketing. Otherwise it is the hub you opened it from, then the hub you last sent to, and if there is none, it asks.
- The panel shows the hub as a chip before anything is saved. Tap it to choose by hand. Once you choose, speech no longer changes it.
- If the hub changes mid-conversation, the conversation splits there. The first part stays in the first hub, the rest goes to the new one. What you said stays where you said it.
How to use it
- On the web or in the desktop app, press the mic button in an empty composer and choose "Talk to agent".
- Check the hub chip at the top of the panel.
- When the aurora blooms, speak. For example: "Summarize this week's new leads in the Marketing hub."
- Pause, and the agent starts working and reads its answer out loud. Keep talking to continue.
- Press the square button to stop. Esc only collapses the panel, so you will not cut yourself off by accident.
Good to know
- It works on the web and in the desktop app. It is not available in the mobile apps yet.
- It needs microphone access.
- In a shared office, turn off read-aloud with the speaker button at the top right of the panel. It stays off on that device.
- Very long answers are shown as text and not read aloud.
